Well I haven't updated in a while. I guess there's really not much to say.
The world spins in much the same was as it always has done, and people are neither overly happy or overly sad. Or, in my own case, Either overly happy, or overly sad, but never quite sure which.
I'm going out this weekend. I'm going to say it again to actually put it into focus. I am GOING OUT this WEEKEND!
There's this guy at work, Taz, he's greek, he got his nickname because none of us could say Anastasious Dionasopolous, and he has to go back to Greece so he can do national service. He doesn't want to go. And we don't want him to go, but there's the 15 of us on one side, and the whole greek army on the other.
Although I admit that grown men in short skirts and tights, with pom-poms on their shoes, don't scare me.
Well.. not in the way they intend.
So we're all going into town, to wish him farewell and good luck.
I've bought some new shoes. They're cool.. a little too cool to be me, but I think I can get away with it.
And I got a shirt, it's black, and feels funky. (that's funky good, not funky bad)
All i need now are some nice new jeans.
Believe it or not, but in my (nearly) six years working there, this is actually the first time I've been out on a works 'Do'. It both terrifies, and excites me.
I'll either make a complete fool of myself, and be reminded of it forever, or prove myself dull beyond comparison.
Or perhaps a combination of them both.
I want this baby to drop, already. he's teasing me from the womb. I try to feel him kick, but everytime I put my hand on the bump, he stops.
We're pretty much ready for him to come. we need a cot, but we have a crib, and a travel cot, and we have a travel system, and pretty much anything else you could think of.
I lost a lens from my glasses yesterday, and spent about an hour crawling around on my hands and knees, staring blurredly at the carpet, trying to find the bloody thing. and only really managing to look like a wierdo with some sort of carpet fetish. When I finally found it (it wasn't on the floor) I realised I'd also lost the screw to hold it in place. So I spent a further twenty-five minutes crawling around looking for that. In the end I gave up and stole one from a pair of (Leen's) unused glasses.
Funnily enough, this happened the same day I was talking about ditching glasses and getting contacts, so perhaps this is a little preview of the future.
Me, crawling around on hands and knees, squinting into the carpet, and muttering to myself.
