Leonard has a slightly nervous smile as he drives Spock up to the old house,  it's a humid day but the sky is clear, no one has been in the house in about ten years so there will need to be some cleaning done but that shouldn't take too long. "Well this is it."

Spock nods, swimming over towards John. The water was probably colder to Spock than John, but there was no complaint from the Vulcan. Instead, treading water, he moved to clean himself off, faltering here and there a bit until he was cleaned off in to a satisfactory point without soap. "Are we finished here then?"

"Yeah I'm good darlin'" He wades back to the shore and pulls on his dry swim trucks and packs things up. "What do you want for dinner tonight?"

Spock spends a couple of more minutes making sure he was cleaning before following John up on shore. He dried off with the towel before wrapping it around his waist - his shorts were still wet from the lake before John had conveniently removed them for the Vulcan.

"...Do you still have the fire pit here? If you do, may I request vegetable skewers?"

"Alright, I'll put a bit of meat on mine if that's okay." He smiles, "and smores for later?" He smirks a little.

"I accept the proposal of smores. And I will not be cross should you add meat to yours. I know that Humans eat meat and I will not ask you to alter your ways for the sake of my own."

John nods and holds Spock's hand as they walk back to the house once there he collects the things they'll need to be comfortable outside, and to cook and takes them to the fire pit.

"Will I need a jacket for this?" He asks from the living room by the coat closet. Spock had been rather...occupied yesterday and this morning to judge the temperature correctly.

"Bring one out, just in case." He nods a little "Shouldn't be too cold, but it's better to be ready." He smiles a little.

With a nod, Spock retrieved a light jacket from the coat closet before joining John outside. With the minimal lighting - unlike the city where they had lived before - the stars were easy to see above them. The Vulcan settled by the fire, watching the flames and ready to help with the skewers if needed.

John gets every set up and the skewers cooking on the make shift grill, and lays back on the blanket while they cook looking at the sky that is quickly fading from a combination of brunt orange and purple to an inky blue black stars blinking to life above them.

Spock sits next to John, lifting his face upwards to watch the sky above them. The sky was glittering with the gleaming stars, twinkling here and there. He tried estimating the distance but gave up and laid down next to John.

"During the next shore leave, perhaps we will be able to go to New Vulcan instead."

"I would really enjoy that." He says looking at Spock smiling a little he sits back up and turns the skewers over.

He lifts his head to observe John's actions of turning over the skewers before laying back down, attempting to relax. It was nice out here like this and Spock moved to intertwine their arms before doing the same with their fingers once John had laid back down.

John lets out a relaxed sigh and lays against Spock smiling. "I really do like when we can have time like this." He grins looking up at the sky.

Spock's quiet for a moment, dark eyes watching the sky above them. "I had momentarily forgotten what it was like to look at the stars from the surface of a planet."

"You don't look when you're on away missions?" He asks running his fingers along Spock's.
