"Mmhm..." Jim replies, half asleep. "We gotta...tell Jo. She'll be happy." He mumbles, curled tight underneath the blanket.

Leonard smiles "Yeah Jim, we'll tell her, she'll be very happy."

Leonard says and he lets Jim get some rest and since he's up he just heads to his office to catch on paper work and check his appointments for the day.

A few hours later he is seeing patients but ever so often he goes in and checks on Jim.

Jim sleeps through almost the entire day, just like he's been wanting to do for the past couple days. He wakes around the end of Leonard's shift, stretching and rolling over with a loud yawn.

Leonard comes into the room and grins a little. "Mornin' sleepy head." He laughs a little "I was just getting ready to go get Jo."

"Oh! Good." Jim hops off of the bed, following Bones out of sickbay. He can't wait to tell Jo...

Leonard smiles at Jim "Jim we might want to tell her when we get to quarters, and I'm not sure I want everyone on the ship to know yet." He says as he takes Jim's hand. "Just want it for the family for now." He smiles.

"I agree." Jim nods, lacing his fingers with Bones'.

But as soon as their door closes behind them, Jim has Jo sit on the couch between him and Bones. "Jojo, your Daddy and I have something very important to tell you."

"When Mama said that, she told me Daddy was leaving... is one of you leaving?" She asked slightly worried looking.

Leonard kneels down in front of her, shaking his head, "No baby" he says hugging her. "This is happy news." He says picking her up and taking her over to the couch and sits with her. "But it is very important you don't tell anyone else until we say you can."

"That's right." Jim agrees and smiles when Jo makes a motion against her lips as if she is zipping them before sitting quietly.

"You're going to be a big sister, Jo." Jim smiles. "Your Daddy and I are going to have a baby."

Its endearing the way Jo takes time to unzip her mouth before she squeals, throwing her arms around Leonard's neck, then Jim's. "When? Who's going to have the baby? Is it you, Popsicle? Is that why you're sick?"

Leonard laughs a little and hugs Jo and nods. "Yeah JoJo." He says kissing the top of her head. "That's why Popsicle has been sick."

"How come I can't tell anyone?" She asks moving over she presses her ear to Jim's stomach.

Jim strokes her hair gently. "Because we want to tell the whole ship at once, that's why. But not yet. Sometimes its fun to have secrets, just for a little while. As long as they're good things, like this." Jim explains.

"Okay..." She says her ear stills pressed to Jim's stomach. "I can't hear the baby all I hear is gurgle gurgle gurgle." She says looking at her Dad.

Leonard laughs "Darlin' that's because the baby is about the size of a lima bean right now."

"That's tiny." She says before looking back at Jim, "If your tummy is going gurgle gurgle gurgle doesn't that mean you are hungry?"

"We should get dinner set, something simple tonight..." He says before Jo cuts him off.

"Grilled Cheese and tomato soup?" She grins

"Alright, Jim what do you want?"

The thought of cheese makes Jim's stomach flip but he doesn't let on. "I think I should stick to light things right now...maybe some vegetable and wild rice soup?" He suggests, pleased to find that his stomach does not theoretically protest.

Leonard smiles and nods "Alright Jim." Leonard says moving into the kitchen area to make sandwiches and soup for himself and Jo and food for Jim as well.

Jo stays in Jim's lap looking at his stomach. "How long 'till the baby comes, is it a boy or a girl, what are you gonna name it? Can I pick out the name?" She asks in a rapid fire fashion.

Leonard can be heard chuckling until Jo asks "Where did it come from?"

"The baby should be here in about 8 months, we don't know if its a boy or a girl yet and you can help us pick a name." And true to Kirk fashion, he doesn't flinch when Jo asks where the baby came from.

"When I went down onto that planet a month and a half ago, I helped the aliens who lived there keep their land. And they promised me my greatest wish in the whole entire world." He stroked Jo's hair. "And you know how Mr. Spock can see your thoughts sometimes when he touches you?" Jo nodded. "Well, we're not quite sure yet, but I think when they shook my hand, they saw that my greatest wish in the whole entire world was to have a baby with your Daddy. And then they gave me this funny smelling water and like I said, I don't know the specifics yet, but I think that had something to do with it...I'll fill in the gaps when I talk to them tomorrow."

"The aliens made it so you could have one..." Jo neds "But how was the baby made..." She presses "Where did it come from?" far to smart for a six year old

Leonard sighs from the kitchen and puts the sandwiches on the table and checks the soup before coming in and sitting down with Jo and Jim. "JoJo, babies come from when two people love and trust each other very much, if they have that then they are able to make a baby."
