Sorry I’ve not been very communicative lately, but I had a pretty grim Christmas, with some sort of fluey thing and a lot of depression, and I couldn’t really face moaning about it online (let alone spoiling anyone else’s holidays!). I seemed to have lost all energy - most of the things I had planned to make for people’s Christmas presents remain uncompleted and I was sleeping at least 12 hours a day. However, I’ve had my pill dosage adjusted up and they seem to be working now, so I’ve perked up slightly. I’ve finally got round to signing on as officially unemployed, and might even get some sort of money off them in a week or so. I did have a great time with the adopted family (and an adorable puppy) when the g-d and boyfriend were here, but it all fell a bit flat afterwards, and I didn’t really perk up until New Year’s Day, when I went over to the brother’s for a short stay.
On the plus side, I ended up finishing the brother’s silver wedding quilt (when I was actually at his house). It looks really lovely, and they seemed to like it. Here are some pictures:
A close-up, on the back of the brother's sofa - see I even did little embroidered bits!
Not quite finished here - some of the lining still to be sewn on.
Also, while I’m at it, here is a picture of the niece’s gingerbread house. She carried it over from Amsterdam on the ferry, and I was wondering how she managed it before I saw it and realised that it was based on a tall narrow Dutch townhouse, and thus suitable for carrying. She even did stained-glass windows!
And as a bonus, that adorable puppy (he was a cavalier King Charles spaniel, and had just been adopted, but he seemed very at home in a room full of enormous strangers.
