Just back from a final shop, mainly to pick up stuff the g-d ordered, but also to test-drive a new coat, because it would be awful if it turned out to be an Unlucky Coat and I wore it on holiday. I still remember the time I wore the Khaki Jacket of Doom to Cornwall. The coat is comfortable, makes me look slightly stylish, and seems to be associated with successful shopping. As well as the g-d's stuff, I found a very nice new wheely suitcase and a pair of fairly non-horrible Clarks sandals. Now I've just moved everything into the new case from the old one with the slightly faulty zip and I'm just having a cup of tea before heading off to vote* and get the train to Paris. The weather forecast for the weekend is a bit rubbish, but I will be protected by my new coat.
*Rather boringly, in my solidly Labour constituency, I'll be voting Labour, because our current MP, Jeremy Corbyn, is an exemplary contituency MP, very accessible and helpful. I've heard several stories to his credit from people around here, some from people who wouldn't or didn't vote for him. Not sure about the council election, probably Green.
