Spring flowers and bunnies (one at least)

After two days of clear skies and frost, today was cloudy and a little warmer. I got out to the park, and photographed some winter aconites, and then went to the library. Busy, busy...

That gate is a marvel! I love it and yes, I think I like the bunny best, too.
It's rather March Hare-ish (as in Alice).

You have Mandrake and Hellebore seeds?
OOOOOHHHHHHHH!

I got seeds of aconite, mandrake, mugwort, yellow belladonna and some others as a slightly worrying Christmas present from another Harry Potter fan.

You're right, the bunny looks much more like a hare than a rabbit.

What an odd...and slightly sinister...garden those seeds will make.
:D

I love what you've done with the photo of the aconites :-)
I think I might get seeds as well and I know just the spot to put them.

That gateway is a delight, I like the squirrel, too. YOu don't have to go far at all in London to see something that catches the eye for a photo.

When Mitzimaybe and I were on my ancestor trail in Bermondsey just before Christmas, the ancient pub the Angel had loads of books about Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, which amazed me and I suspect many other pubs have books for their areas too. With regards a book about Art Deco town halls of all the London boroughs maybe one of the bigger libraries will have something?

The aconite photo was completely an accident, but the light seems to have brought out their bright yellow. I love the way they just appear overnight through the mud. I think they come from bulbs or tubers, so they would be planted in the autumn.

Yes, the gate is one of those charming little details that can be passed by so easily. I'd been past it dozens of times before I even noticed it, and lots more before I remembered a camera.

I'm going to have a look in the online catalogue of the British Library; there are certainly quite a few
