The sun is shining, and has been for two consecutive days! The sky has gone a peculiar blue colour too, and I’m feeling unusually perky but physically a bit weird. I had half a day’s work yesterday, which I enjoyed, but rather cocked up, due to being unable to find an essential reagent, but felt ludicrously tired when I got home, considering I hadn’t done that much.
This morning I overslept badly, and woke to realise that I had only half-an-hour to get to the post-office depot to pick up two parcels that had been waiting for me for over a week, so I dressed and charged off without breakfast. The parcels turned out to be a copy of The book about couture that came out with the V&A’s big exhibition a year or so ago, and a huge box containing a rather small scarf. Back at home, I had to have a little lie-down, and continued to feel weird even after breakfast. Everyone at work had colds, so I suspect I’ve picked up one; getting soaking wet in the rain last week (twice) didn’t help, I suppose. Today, I’ve stayed in and pottered about - there are cupboards to sort out, layers of horrible dirt revealed by the spring sunshine to clean away (or rather just stare at in horror) and more of the g-d’s crochet project. The motifs for sewing onto her sweater are nearly finished, but the sweater isn’t, so I have a few day’s grace to figure out an ornamental way to attach them and make them look a bit smoother. I bought a secondhand wool scarf in a similar stitch at the weekend, and will try a few stitches on that.
