I finally got to see my GP yesterday evening. He refused to believe that the citalopram was connected with my weight or sleepiness, but agreed that I should stop taking it, on the grounds that there is no point in taking pills I don't need. I didn't tell him, but I had already started cutting down the number I'm taking, and I think I have been feeling less sleepy. Certainly I went to bed at a sensible hour, and this morning I woke up at an equally sensible hour, which is a start.
On my way there (about a three-minute walk) it had begun to snow, and when I left it was snowing heavily, with about half-an inch on the ground in the park. This morning, though, the snow has gone, and it is cold and clear, with big patches of blue sky.
Now off the the V&A, to say goodbye to Derya, who is returning to Turkey this week. I'll miss her, but I'm sure I will see her again - I am invited to visit her in Istanbul, and I'll definitely take her up on that!
