Happy New Year!
I can't muster up much enthusiasm for the new year celebrations this year, although (or perhaps because) I'll be so very glad to see the back of 2009, which was definitely of my less favourite years. I'm slightly minded to go to bed early with a hot-water bottle and a detective story, but the celebratory explosions have already started, so I'll probably stay up a bit, watch some DVDs (avoiding Hogmanay rubbish on TV) and do a bit of sock monkey sewing. I also have a dead camel spider to set as a Christmas present for the brother, but I'll leave that until tomorrow when the light is better.
Anyway, it's bloody cold tonight, and I'm really glad not to be out in Trafalgar Square or wherever. I hope all of you have everything you want and need in this new year/decade, and keep warm and happy!
