(no subject)
today was mildly disappointing. I had planned to spend a pleasant afternoon visiting the zoo in Battersea Park with the g-d and boyfriend (who had heard that it contains monkeys), but when I got to Victoria station to meet them I was greeted by a message saying that his grandmother had been taken very ill, and they had to go to Bornemouth, where she lives. Sad and worrying for them, so I can't really justify my being annoyed, but I was, slightly.
The day has been dank and a bit sweaty, with rain on-and-off, so I stayed home, reading newspapers and roughing out designs for some craft projects. Since I have an order for six monkeys to fill, I've been feeling rather craftish, and decided to make a padded case for my new netbook (a Samsung NC10 privisionally christened Foo-Foo) and finally start on the japanned mirror frame I had intended for my niece's Christmas present last year. Nice to have something to do again.
