work again
Another busy day covered in dust in the Mayfair house. The poor (relatively) little Georgian house is now embedded in a huge engineering site, with conveyer-belts loaded with concrete going here and there and rather too many pneumatic drills in the basement. One of the electricians working in the basement told me that he found the house very spooky and that photographs taken in the basement had shown things that weren't there when the picture was taken. He didn't clarify this, which is probably just as well.
One person of our three-person team was off sick, and the other (who does all the high-level work on the scaffold) bashed her arm, leaving only me present and functioning. Unfortunately, all my part of the team is responsible for is footling about and writing things down in my little book, so we pushed off back to the yard for the afternoon, and I spent the rest of the day locked into the lab making up spreadsheets.
