I think I've scored so many of the "classics", because I read all the books in the house when I was a child, and we had inherited the best part of a rather large library. Also, since I have a freakishly fast reading speed, I'm encouraged rather than intimidated by breeze-block sized things like Cryptonomicon or Gravity's Rainbow.
ETA; just noticed that I'd marked Angela's Ashes and Angels and Demons as if I'd tried to read it then stopped - actually I tried to read them, then hurled them aside with many oaths, since they were both deeply, deeply annoying, although for different reasons (complete literary incompetence and maudlin Irishness, respectively).
