Plan A for today was for me to get the housework and shopping done early, and head off to the Thames Festival at one, but this derailed itself early on, and I found myself wandering dispiritedly around Crouch End, passing the hairdresser's four times without plucking up the courage to make an appointment. So I went back home and pottered for a bit, unable to choose clothes to wear to the festival, and finally decided to call the whole thing off.
Then the g-d rang to see if I wanted to go for a coffee, and I perked up a bit and insisted on her taking me to her gym. I've joined a gym! I haven't done anything there yet (apart from paying for it), but on Monday they check me out and show me how all the instruments work. It was all a little unnerving, but no-one pointed at me and screamed, so I may manage there. Even if I don't do any exercises, I should be able to do the Pilate's, which my physio did recommend. The g-d tells me that the people in the Pilate's classes are "relatively normal", unlike those in the spinning classes.
I also accompanied her to Crouch End library, which I had never seen before (despite living there for 10 years), and joined there as well. And I made the hairdresser's appointment. Tomorrow I'll go to the Thames Festival
