"De-odorizing" Doc Johnson packer

Don't know if anyone can help with this, but I thought it'd be worth a try.

Has anyone used the Doc Johnson Pack It as a packer? I recently bought the white Pack It Lite. I had a few reservations about it from the Amazon reviews, but decided to give it a shot.

One or two of the reviews mentioned that it had a vanilla scent, but I didn't expect this to be a problem. But after a few weeks of having it, the scent is getting annoying. And I haven't even been using it much. I've been keeping it in a dresser drawer, and whenever I open the drawer now, I can smell the vanilla. If I handle the packer, the smell lingers on my skin. I don't even know where to store it, because I don't want that scent to get all over everything in the vicinity. Also, when I handle the packer, sometimes it leaves a sticky or oily residue on my hands.

I've washed it a few times, but it doesn't seem to have made a difference. I kind of regret buying it now. Any advice? Do you think if I keep washing it, the smell will fade?

Thank you!
