passports--should i have listed my previous name?
I recently had to apply for my first passport because I'll be leaving the country in about 3 weeks (it was sort of sudden). I had my name change somewhere around 10 years ago. My social security, drivers license, and birth certificate all list me as my chosen name and as male, and they have for something like 6 years now.
Unfortunately, I'm a worrier. On the application, I didn't put my previous name. How important is that? Will my passport get held up/denied because of it? Has anyone out there ever not put their former names on the application, and can assuage my fears and panic attacks that I won't be able to take this trip because of a stupid bureaucratic mess?
