So back in November Healthy San Francisco elected to immediately start covering gender re-constructive surgery, however I have yet to hear of anyone actually having been able to get it and have it covered, or doctors that will accept it. I'm curious if anyone here has ever managed to have their surgery through Healthy San Francisco, or knows of anyone who has? If anyone has any info on it I would greatly appreciate it.
On another note, I'm finally at a point where I can safely change my legal name and gender, and afford to do so. I've been passing 100% for almost a couple years now, and having my extremely feminine name and F marker has been pretty problematic. That said, I've been researching how to do this for the past couple years, and even printed out the forms to do so multiple times filling out what I could, but in all honesty I'm quite lost on what to do. I've read the official California State government websites, but they don't help me much. I don't understand much of what the forms are asking me for, and I don't really get how to go about filing them as well as submitting the name change to newspapers.
Also, I'm curious what it cost others to get their name changed in CA? And if anyone has any suggestions for the best/least expensive approved newspaper to file the notice of name change.
Any help is greatly appreciated on these matters, thanks in advanced!
