Denied Plasma Donation
Today I tried to donate my plasma and was denied based on my trans status. I have been on T for over a year and pass about 90% of the time, but have not had my documents changed. When I was doing the question and answer portion before actually donating they asked me about all medications I was on and more specifically why I was on T, so I disclosed. They then told me that I was pretty much automatically high risk and they were concerned about T "leaking" into the plasma they would collect and did not want to risk that being passed on to someone else.
Has this happened to anyone here before? I was a bit shocked and offended by this reasoning because I have never heard of this happening and felt it to be a bit wacky. Thanks guys!
