I mentioned this in a comment to a post a while ago, but I've been having a fair amount of success with occasional (maybe once every 4-6 weeks) day-long peroxide and baking soda soaks for my binders.
I use 2-3 big bottles of the peroxide and maybe .5-1 cup baking soda (I just dump some in). Turns mine from tan/brown back to fairly white and kills the sweaty etc. smell. There are stubborn spots that don't look much different, though I haven't attempted bleaching (ongoing chlorine smell = not that great to me) or just really scrubbing them.
A paste/thicker solution of this also does an amazing job with ring around the collar.
