more media around pregnant transsexual men

Mar 25, 2009 10:29

One of my (non-trans) friends just emailed me this link to a Salon article about a transsexual man in Spain who is pregnant with twins. I hadn't seen anything online about this guy, and while I found this short piece fairly flippant, I appreciated the last line, in which the author hopes "we can all get back to focusing on more important things, ( Read more... )

YAY! Shit like this validates the Dr. that chose to call me "She" during my ultrasound yesterday when they looked in my history and saw my last ultrasound was the once that got me my hysto. He was like "You used to have a uterus?" "I was like, yeah, I'm trans. It's not relevant to the status of my liver though." He was like "Hurrr" and then, upon calling in another dr. to help him with a picture, was like "SHE had a hysterectomy last year." That Dr. was like "What are you talking about? This patient? OHHHhhhhh"

Every pregnant man that bandies himself about gives permission to the world to treat us ALL like that.

Perhaps you should refrain from wearing your wife's lingerie under your clothing. At least, y'know, on the days when you know you have to go to the doctor. I doubt they'd notice your silk panties otherwise.

Jeez. Do you think I have no sense of style?

I know you guys are dude-bros, but I think this banter is better left in each other's personal journals and/or IRL.

I would venture a guess that there are problem some guys in this comm who do wear silk undergarments.
That is also not just the domain of ladies.

You are friends which is what "dude-bros" means. It was coined in this comm by one of the members and is apparently used elsewhere besides by geographic locale to mean friends.
It has been used within this comm pretty regularly without commentary from the mods, so I feel pretty okay with using it and the acceptability of its usage within comm rules.

You would be mistaken if you think that you and I are "dude-bros".

You would be mistaken if you did not realize the comment was laced with my strongest sarcasm.
