Dear ftm

Dear ftm lj community,
I feel like this community and its members are so focused on asking and sharing about the medical aspects of transitioning that there is no room for guys who choose not to medically transition or guys who cannot transition due to financial/bureaucratic reasons.  I am under eighteen and lack the support of my legal guardian to transition so medical issues are not of concern to me right now although the possibilities of beginning hormone therapy and having SRS are still on my mind.  The issues that are of importance to me are socialization as a transguy, passing, sexual and gender identity, building relationships with other transguys, and the politics of being a maybe-maybe-not queer guy.  I know that a lot of guys on here use this as an information database but where is the real community?  I hope this ftm livejournal community can maybe start putting a more focus on the other aspects of being a female-to-male transperson besides surgery and hormones.

Thanks, Ellis
