Regarding any "Studies" or "Research" posted on this forum...

This is in regards to transman57's post on Feb 16 (10:40pm), asking for people to take a survey. The survey can be found here: http://test.parris-vision.com/hc/
I am advising everyone to NOT TAKE THIS SURVEY.
I am currently involved in learning how to research, and designing some research of my own. This survey sent up a red flag for me because no institution is mentioned, nor are the potential risks/benefits of taking the survey. This survey is considered research with human subjects, and as such the researcher is required by not only institutional guidelines and regulations, but federal and international laws, to provide full disclosure about the study and a full statement of confidentiality. This is not happening here. This does not look legit to me. Furthermore, a journey to transman57's journal reveals essentially a blank profile and no entries.
What this means is: If you take this survey, I highly suspect your confidentiality cannot be guaranteed. Your responses could, at the least, be tied to an ip address and made public information.
As I said, I am only an undergrad just getting my feet wet in these things, and I only just completed the citiprogram.org course on research with human subjects, so I'm in a little bit of an anal frame of mind. If there is someone on the board who knows way more about this than I do, and I bet there is, I'd like to know what you think about this.
I would like to say that I am not trying to start drama, I am merely concerned about the confidentiality of the people who take this survey.
