So I think I'm playing a butchy lesbian from new york whose name is Cat.....This will be interesting--I'll be starting T in a few weeks, and this will be the first female role I've played since I was in high school. I have to train myself to walk a little more feminine-ly and all that but....hm. I'm not sure how I feel about this ( Read more... )

Thanks. When I auditioned, I put "Any male part" as a part I would accept, and "any female part" for the parts I would not like to be considered for. After I read, one of the directors insisted that I read for Cat "to humor her." Then she wanted to know if I absolutely would not play a girl, no matter what...and I was like...hm. On the gender continuum, she's not too far from where I am--just barely to the left of that dreaded middle line that I try so hard to stay to the right of.
