I have a question brought forth by my girl. She was thinking one day and said, "I wonder if maybe you have more testosterone or something in your system than say, I do" And, that got me thinking about that. Does anyone know of any research about that? Or, has anyone else thought about that that trans people's hormone levels may be different than ( Read more... )

I have asked this many times, and the answer came back that ftms don't typically have more testosterone than other females. The reason I say this is because a lot of ftms tried to use their more testosterone in their system to say that they are ftm, but there are a lot of feminie women out there with higher levels of testosterone, compare to the average women. Now majority of them, see this through enlargened clits, facial hair growth and so forth. But to say that maybe our reason for being transgendered is because of possible high levels of testosterone, you can't really hit the hammer on the nail and get a precise yes to that. Cause there are always exceptions to a rule; the rule being that ftms have more testosterone.

Also there was a little research done that males have either their index finger and something else be longer, something like that. I believe it is the middle finger being longer than the index finger. This is suppose to indicate larger levels of testosterone that was exposed to the baby in the womb. But yet, that still doesn't correlate to transgenderism. Just because your index finger or whatever it is, is longer than your middle, (or vice versa), that you are meant to be male and your hormones are just fucked up. I can't remember precisely which it was, longer index finger to middle or other way around, if anyone else heard of this can you clarify it for me? Thanks.

Oh also hope that helps also.

Right, I guess it can't be a precise answer because there always are exceptions, even my sister being one of them. But, it would be interesting to at least study.

Also, did you mean ring finger and index finger? And if you did, my index finger is way longer, but I'm not sure how that fits into the study so I'll shut up now. Thanks for the input though!

Males ring fingers (measured crease to tip) are generally much longer than their index fingers. Female bodied people with high levels of testosterone are also supposed to have longer ring fingers.

Not entirely on subject, but this was just posted in another community on my friend's list and mentioned some things about the index/ring finger length too.

haha that's funny, my mom has no spatial ability whatsoever, so that made me laugh. Mine's extremely good however. Thanks for that!
