So, I made it through the election, and got yesterday off...the other girls in the office did not, but I did, and it is not my fault that they had to work yesterday!
So, GW won, and well I'm agreeing with Colleen about it...She said that if everything goes to shit in Iraq, then he should be the one to get blamed for it! Think about it...who got blamed for Vietnam? Johnson, not Kennedy. Jack would never have done anything like that, but LBJ was the bad guy. So why should anyone have to put up with the harassment, and blame for something they didn't start?
In related news, the Ohio Army National Guard 211th deployed yesterday. They are off to Indiana for 2 weeks, and the to Iraq for a long period. In that division was a cousin of mine that I don't know very well, and my friend, Linzie, whose mother came here from Korea, so her kids wouldn't have to go through what she and her family went through when she was younger. Yet when her only daughter, aged 24, drove past he could no longer support herself, and was escorted to the car by her family.
I know that things aren't going well over there, and I know that people aren't coming back, but this has hit far to close to home for me...and now it's just time to sit back and wait for what...who's next? Jess Kate's brother-in-law just came back...Who's next? More of my friends? My family? My boy?
WHEN THE FUCK IS THIS GOING TO STOP? I can't watch the news anymore, or read the paper, it's too depressing. If I want to know what's going on I have to read the BBC online because the British DO NOT censor their news...THEY DON'T LIE TO THE PEOPLE OF THEIR COUNTRY!!!!!
