back from Boston

1. The trip back was better than the trip up. I actually came close to what could have been a serious accident, when my car suddenly hit something on the Massachusetts Turnpike and I started skidding out of control and ended up facing the wrong way. Fortunately, I kept my head. There was no other car anywhere near me, and the snow piled up on the median actually stopped the car before I hit anything. So I was able to take a deep breath, turn around, and just continue driving.

2. Last night was a tremendous fun, despite the wet wet WET weather. I met Cecilia, John, Brad, and Rebecca for a lovely Korean dinner, then we all went back to my hotel for some Scrabble. They were nice enough to let us play in the restaurant. We played one real game, then a number of speed games. To tell the truth, the opportunity to get together with friends in the Boston area on the company's dime  was the main reason I decided to drive up instead of flying there and back the same day. Thanks, Cecilia, for organizing this.

3. The day full of meetings and training was far less painful than it might have been.
