By virtue of the lateness of the hour, it is May 27th, but Happy Memorial Day anyway, thank you to the troops serving overseas to ensure our freedom in this world.
Well, I can officially say Summer 2008 in the 954 is boring as Hell! The only thing keeping me entertained is the Marlins, the surprising Marlins. The team with baseball's lowest payroll is leading the NL East and beating teams that were predicted to win or at least go to the World Series, go figure. Of course, being the team we are, the national media has yet to really embrace our knack for finding ways to win or pitchers struggling to get through innings but still winning games. The icing on the cake is the fact that the Tampa Bay Rays are in first in the AL East, beating both the Red Sox and the Yankees, who were in LAST PLACE yesterday. That just goes to show you, a $150 million payroll wont give you wins automatically. 6 Yankees get paid more than the ENTIRE Marlins team, and we're better than they are, now thats irony! Who would have thought that almost 1/3rd of the way through the season, the Florida Marlins and the Tampa Bay Rays would be the best teams in the MLB! But enough about baseball...
Rumor has been spreading through the house that Dad wants to go to Chicago for a weekend and take this course on the new program he just installed in his office to increase his proficiency in it. I'm saying jackpot because that is a way to finally get out of here and get to Chicago, a place where I can have some fun. White Sox games, Cubs games, downtown adventures! I'm gonna see if I can go with him instead of Mom, who is trying to go now, I'll use the angle that I wanna spend time in the city of my future to see what I need to do to make it there.
I'm not working full time, I'm barely putting in hours at the office to make enough ends meet that I'll be fine when school comes around, but I'm gonna have to face facts and go look for another job soon here, cause I didnt get lucky this go around. I refuse to work for food service, I hate dealing with people and their food, that's a business I'd rather not get involved in.
I finally cleaned my room totally, first time since like, maybe when I was 10. I threw out soo much crap and junk that I had accumulated throughout the years. I finally hung up my senior awards from school and band, it was a real blast from the past to look at those and remember our awesome Senior year, good times. The 2 KA awards I recieved found their way up there too.
I can't think of anything else to write in this damn thing other than the hopes that I can go to Chicago soon, congrats to my sister for getting into Vanderbilt, and to the Marlins for showing what $21 million can do, keep it up! That's it for me
