Apartments

I'm trying to decide between Carolina Square (off Dewey and Virginia St) and Colony Club/High Point. I'm most suspicious of High Point since that's in a fairly shit area of town, does anyone here live at either of these places? What do you think?

Lived at Carolina Square for a year. Place filled up with roaches about halfway through my lease when they evicted a couple of deadbeats (which are actually about half the people who live there), and it took the management two weeks to get an exterminator to come out. But that's ok, since the place changes hands every few months, you'll never have to deal with any particular bad manager for too long!

Don't live there. The apartments are old, with old counters and cabinets, old appliances, and old window unit air conditioners. It will cost you a fortune in the summer to keep the place decently cool. There is no counter space in the kitchen, and the oven is very small. The place had ugly, dirty carpet which hadn't been cleaned when I moved in, but rest assured that if you do not clean it before you move out, they will take it out of your deposit and pretend they did it to ready the unit for the next in a long line of disappointed renters.

Also, it's very loud at night. Living next to a dorm and the strip will do that, but it was really the gunshots every night that bothered me. If you do end up living there, do yourself a favor and make sure your unit has that little chain on the door so you can sleep well at night -- mine didn't (looked to have been ripped clean off at some point and the spot painted over), but then again management didn't see fit to replace it.

Fuck that place so hard.
