the first cloudy day in months...
that's right, today is the first overcast day since i've been here....that means the first non-sunny day in 2.5 months...it's actually kind of weird...it feels like winter out...and by winter i mean cali-winter which is like 15 degrees. yes, i now find 15 degrees cold. yesterday it was 20 and i was wearing a sweater.
update:
i was sent by mark (the photographer i work with) to scout some locations he has to photograph. that basically means i go to the places with a compass and my camera and figure out which parts of the building face which direction and i take photos and then we can determine what time of day the building should be photographed. i had seven places to go and after the first six i was ready for the end of the day...they were all really boring industrial park type stuff. so i get to the last location and i can't find the building anywhere (it was some credit union building). after many conversations with the client, we determined that i nwas, in fact, in the right place but i still couldnt find the sign for the building. there was however, a sign in front of a building that said "miami dade crime lab" and there were trailers and hummers and cop cars and ppl milling about over there. so i walked over to a security guard and he assured me that i was in the right place, but they were filming so he wasnt sure if i could photograph. i was then introduced to the locations manager who was super nice and said that even though they were filming csi:miami (!) i could take a couple quick shots. then we got to talking and not only was i able to stick around and watch the filming, but he took me on set and i saw a bunch of people on the show and we all had fancy catered coffee drinks. it was definately the highlight of my day since i love csi (among other crime shows).
now i shall work.
