It's always the same spot, but Ryoma can never quite figure out in which direction he comes from; it seems different each time, and it's obviously quite possible that Tezuka has a life outside of slaying, must have, as much as he appears devoid of personality and interests. Else he just makes sure he approaches from a different path each time in order to deter Ryoma from following him.
No fear of that; if it wasn't for the damn vampires seeking him out first, he wouldn't bother with them at all. But he realised quickly enough he needed to protect himself. And Tezuka had said the only way to do that was to get them before they got you.
Not that he'd managed it yet; the actual killing a vampire part. Tezuka had been doing it far longer, his reflexes were faster, and he had no patience for learners. Though, that was a good thing considering being a slow learner could have gotten Ryoma killed half dozen times by now.
Tezuka walks right by him, as always, and slinks under a streetlamp as he walks. Where they hunt, streetlamps are few and far between. Ryoma follows behind, listening out for anything behind him out of habit. There's only silence.
"What if I went blonde, would that help?" Ryoma asks eventually. "Buffy was blonde."
"Faith was a brunette." Tezuka replies without looking back. "And she was quite competent at slaying."
Well, Ryoma thinks to himself, he watches television at least. It's a start.
