Here's a good game:
What fiction errors/clichés or langauge abuses irritate you the most?
Examples:
Fiction cliché: Bored housewives who have raucus affairs and learn a lot about how to be themselves... and then go back to their boring and/or abusive husbands and call it a happy ending.
Or: the suspense novel trick of ending a chapter with, "And then she saw something that shocked her to her very core!" and then not telling you the shocking thing until three chapters later. *cough*Dan Brown*cough*
Or language abuses:
"Me and Sally walked to the beach."
"The company distributed it's stock portfolio."
"Wait", she cried "I'm coming too"!
"Apple's for sale."
Those are mostly punctuation abuses, I'm blanking on things in speech that bug me, but I know they exist.
Okay, now you add yours in the comments.
