Wands?
I've always wondered about the practicality of wands. Goodness knows how many times I've stuck knitting needles in my pockets only to have them fall out as I walk. Now imagine that they aren't knitting needles, but something imperative to your wizarding life - a wand. About a foot long, and made of wood (thus breakable, as Ron's did). And when you run - oh, most definitely will they fall out of your pockets. Not to mention hthe impracticability of having a long bit of wood jabbing into your stomach when you walk. Even if you put them into robe pockets, it'd still clunk against you.
Maybe there's a big market for wand-purses.
