The doctor said i have the flu, but he gave me antiboitics for that.....a flu is a virus.....o well, probebly not telling me that if the medicine doesent work ill end up dieing

Congratulations for knowing that antibiotics don't work on viruses. This puts you ahead of a significant portion of the American population. ;) I suspect your doc is wanting to cover his bases, since there is actually one ailment (at least) that is caused by a bacterium yet has symptoms similar to the flu. Odds that you've got it are pretty slim, but if he prescribed Cipro or its generic equivalent, I would definitely go ahead and take them just in case. =)

If you can, eat yogurt while on the antibiotics, or if you happen to have cheap access to a formal regimen of probiotics, use 'em. I'm sure you've heard people tell girls to do this, but it's important for you too. Remember, those drugs will attempt to kill *all* the bacteria in your system, including the helping friendly cells that aid in digestion. I had to deal with several small stomach pains and a general loss of appetite while I was on antibiotics a couple of weeks ago, and I'm certain this has something to do with it. And now you're making plans to go out of town and eat strangers' cooking - most likely outdoor cooking, at that! =)
