So I feel like I should post an update.

Things are going well, even though there is always something that is a cause of stress.

I finished up work for the summer, and no I am continuing to work every Friday. Working one day a week, and that day being Friday is actually interesting. Finishing with classes on Thursday it’s like I am done with the week, and however unfortunate it is that I have to wake up at 430 on Fridays, it is nice to have "work" that I don't have to plan for, or worry about. There is no homework or anything that I have to complete before coming, I can just show up. It also looks like I am going to be able to do work at RCS that pertains to my major! How insane is that? Using what I learned in school! I think they are going to offer me a contract for developing a new information system for their work scheduling. It is a huge project, but I think it will be very rewarding. It might theoretically work somehow into my actual coursework which would be extra convenient.

Class is fun. I remember from HS what is was like when you know everyone in your class, and everyone is comfortable. It is a community. We joke and have fun, and its the way it should be. Also there was a design project and we totally kicked ass. We lost the popular vote by one vote (and someone in our team voted for that team!) but their success was superficial while ours was functional. Yeah, so I thrive on competition. Isn't it obvious *cough* FIRST.

And speaking of that, the team has become social - already. It is already a fairly often occurrence to spend time working or hanging out with fellow robot folk. This year is going to be different in a fundamental way then it has ever been before. I spearheaded some organizational tasks and things are falling into place. We will have a fully functional practice chassis completed well before kickoff, and now have the capabilities to fabricate a whole robot in a day. We will be a force to be reckoned with, a far cry from the two years of swat in which we never had a machine that could even score. I realize that if possible, I think I will do FIRST for the rest of my life.

In other news, with recent IMA privileges I started to go work out, hoping for some regular schedule. I ran (well, elliptical) for 45 minutes 4 times in a week and half. I want to do it 4-5 times a week. For some reason though, I have developed a pain in my side underneath my rib cage that is kind of worrisome. I don't know if it is related to the exercise or not, but I am really hoping it will heal itself, meanwhile I am taking a too soon break.

Plans for October include multiple Halloween activities, hopefully some mask making, and some formations of new social ties. All already penciled into my calendar! I am jealous of people who are so art-centric. I have to rationalize how much time I actually have with everything else going on, but going to Shah's house made me feel like I need to re-prioritize a bit.

People are funny about TV. I have heard a lot of BSG stuff lately (premier tonight) and Lost this past Wednesday was of course, excellent. If you want to catch up and make regular viewings, I can arrange it :)

Heh, I think I am going to call myself a tire-changing pro now. Wasn't even late for work!
