Fangirlish squee!

I can't f* believe it - today I spent over 100 € on a concert ticket! But then, well... it's for an Elton John show, and sorry, but music-wise he's my total hero. I've got almost every regular album - no "best-of's" - he's ever released. I'm still missing 5 from the 80's but working on it.
The 70's: brilliant. The 80's: not so brilliant, with some rubbish in it (I quite dislike like his "80's-synthie-pop-phase" and I miss Bernie Taupin's brilliant lyrics), but still: at least a few great songs on every album. The 90's: great "comeback" and I just adore his two latest albums "Songs from the West Coast" and "The Captain and the Kid".
So it was not really questionable if I'd get a ticket for his "Red Piano Show" (the one he did in Las Vegas for a few years) in Hamburg this November. It'll be the 4th time for me to see him live.
The 1st one definitely being my favourite and I doubt that'll ever change. I still was doing job-training back then. The concert was in Berlin (a 3 hour drive from Hamburg) and I feigned illness to get away from work early and be in Berlin on time. By the time the concert had started it was raining cats and dogs, and it didn't stop all night. I was wearing a rain cape, but after about 2 hours the rain was coming through it round the zipper - I was like a drowned rat by the end of the show. Elton was in fabulous mood though, joking about the weater (bastard, he wasn't the one getting wet *lol*), and playing an astonishing 3 hour gig! Lots of hits but also some of his lesser known stuff (which I didn't know by then and today love more than the hits). He even played one song - "Bennie and the Jets" - one-handed while lying on the stage floor! So this just for those who think Elton John's music is all ballads and love songs: nope, it isn't. That man's musical spectrum ranges from pop ballads to rock songs, from rock'n'roll over "bluesy" stuff to boogie. Never have been to a concert with a more enthusiastic crowd since then. Just about everyone was in high spirits - and I'm afraid nobody missed Billy Joel, who should have played that evening as well but had been ill. Sorry, Billy ;)
So.... can't it be November yet. I wanna see the show now!
