Wow, someone else who actually watched that show and remembers it? I'm impressed.
I also liked Coldstone, I thought he was pretty cool.
I liked the episode where Goliath and Eliza went into a future New York, and Xanatos had take over everything, with the aid of a souped-up pack.

If ya didn't know, in one of the opening scenes of The Big O II, there is a shot of a skyline of buildings, and there are three of the Disney Gargoyles as statues. The shot is just long enough for the viewer to identify the one in the middle as Goliath.

But yeah, I was really into Gargoyles. I hope they didn't oversanitize it when they made the DVDs--I caught the episode where Oberon was trying to take Alexander from Xanatos and Fox on the Disney Channel a couple years ago. They chopped out the shot when Xanatos' father speared Oberon with a harpoon gun. Yes, I know that's over-the-top for a cartoon, but it was necessary in the context of the scene (that Oberon couldn't be killed with human weapons).

Were you aware of all the Trek actors that were involved in the Gargoyles voice cast?

Yes, I think it became a running joke to try and involve as many Star Trek actors as they could in Gargoyles, somewhere along the way.

And I know what you mean about the sanitizing too - I've seen that on a lot of other shows. I do remember when Xanatos' dad impaled him with the harpoon gun, and seeing it - but there wasn't any blood involved or anything, and I agree with you on the context of it too.
I do have 'The Awakening' on video, and there's a couple of scenes missing from that - but I think that's mainly because they were cliffhangers from the ends of episodes.
