Hey.
This afternoon I attended my second seminar with the VM-Ware Users Group of Knoxville.
I have no recollection of how it was I contacted this company. I guess I sent them a resume or something.
This company makes network management software for companies and organizations. This is far beyond anything I had ever used in my rinky-dink career with retail or hospitality or the government. The computers being built these days for corporate use are now so powerful and sophisticated and advanced that applications management is a killer app in itself. Understanding it takes a college degree at least.
It's fascinating stuff but I have no way to use it. No actual need for it. No budget to afford it.
I may attend one or two more meetings of these guys--they usually have good swag (I got a leather portfolio this time!)--but I don't have a good reason to stay long-term.
