Went to the Job Service office in Talbott / Alpha this afternoon and didn't like what I saw in the listings of job openings.
Only TEN for all of Jefferson County.
Only SIX for Cocke County next door.
With the tourist season ending, Sevier County businesses are drawing down their staffs, and the only company hiring between here and Knoxville is the mine at Strawberry Plains/New Market.
I have no confidence whatsoever that I'll find work here for a year at least. The more I see the more depressed I get.
