Kathleen's Classes for Spring Quarter

Mar 19, 2009 08:22

My classes for next quarter (starting March 30th):

TSMIN 314  Twentieth-Century Revolutions (5 credits)
An interdisciplinary look at four major 20th-century revolutions: Russia, China, Cuba, and Nicaragua. Begins with political theories of revolution, then discusses the historical process which accomplished each of the four revolutions, and ends with a discussion of how these revolutions established political legitimacy and culture.
TSMIN is code for States and Markets: International. Yeah, seriously. The class is for my concentration.

TCOM 482  Investigative Reporting (5 credits)
Investigative reporting is demanding, intellectually, emotionally, and physically. Prepares students to undertake quality in-depth journalism. Includes interviewing, researching, and writing lengthy investigative news articles.
Ok, so I'm taking this for no reason other than that I want to. I'm not a Com major, but hey, I *am* going to Russia in September on a Journalism Exchange Program, so it seems like a good class.

TESC 211  The Science of Environmental Sustainability (5 Credits)
Introduces the science of sustainability. Includes an overview of the origins of the concept of environmental sustainability and the development of sustainability science as an independent discipline and investigates the methodologies used by scientists to develop sustainable systems
I need an environmental science class (plus three additional science classes) to graduate. I'm hoping this one isn't too science-y.
