Personification of the Morning-After

Apr 12, 2007 14:30

I am the picture of the morning-after: mussed hair, men's pants, over-sized t-shirt, smudged make-up, high heels.

For a while, fashion magazines really pushed a look that was made up of articles of men's clothing and some feminine pieces and high heels, a bit of sexy androgeny. The real appeal, it seems to me, is that it insinuates that you are somehow available to be taken home, as it is really the look of a woman who did not go home the night before but instead was taken home by someone.

That's my pop culture analysis of the day.

androgeny, fashion
