Since my last post was long and made entirely of text, here's a bunch of pictures. These aren't icons, but you can put them in your user profile--or message board signature, in case you want to show them off to the guys at the UQM forum or something.
Based on Memes
"Ye can't get ye flask" is a quote from the Strong Bad Email "videogame," in which Strong Bad envisions himself starring in various genres of video games. Strangely, the "old-school text-based adventure," "Thy Dungeonman," has nothing to do with Strong Bad directly. Anyway, he expects some kind of bug to make the game unwinnable, leading to this response when the player types "Get ye flask." Since "Ye Can[']t Get Ye Flask" is now the name of a TV Tropes entry, I felt it was time to give it a Starcon2 image bar.
Sorry if your childhood has been tainted, but if you're unfamiliar with this quote, it comes from "Magic Dance," a Villain Song (that's another trope) from the Jim Henson movie Labyrinth. As the title suggests, the song is great fun to dance to, even if the meaning is more sinister than the aesthetic implies. (It's a kid-friendly "I Put a Spell on You," really.)
One of the most infamous catchphrases of the 1990s now belongs to Admiral ZEX.
According to the aforementioned TV Tropes, "OM NOM NOM NOM" is the sound of alien locusts taking over Earth (or something similar to such a situation). When I read that, I immediately thought of H.P. Lovecraft's Mi-Go, to which the closest SC2 analogues are the Mycon. (The Mi-Go also share a similarity the Earthlings in SC2, which is disturbing.)
And Another Joke
This exchange between Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett was exclusive to the stage show's version of "A Little Priest," so if you only saw the movie, you won't understand this joke. If you haven't seen either, well...let's not spoil it for you.
There may be more image bars headed your way; wait for 'em.
