Hello!  I'm new here, but endlessly fascinated with a certain pair of species: the Yehat and the Shofixti.

The Yehat and the Shofixti are truly interesting to me--enough to speculate endlessly on them.  Yes, we get quite a bit of info, but not enough for me!  So...lemme run through this.  Please do comment upon anything lackluster, as I tend to ( Read more... )

I never really thought about how that bond could have come about, or what could make it so strong, but the idea of the Starship Clans being the only ones who really KNEW Shofixti definitely makes sense to me, and why they were more likely to be turned against the Queen when they saw their dead children come back to life. The Starship clan's loyalty to me seems more in-line with concepts and things they know as reality...to the Shofixti, their fellow starship captains, and the concept of honor, while not having a lot to do with or maybe even knowing the Queen or the Royals at the homeworld. In that way they'd be more likely to turn against the Queen, since they'd have less of an attachment to her as compared to their attachment to what defined their "reality" if any of this makes sense. :B

And on the other hand, knowing only the Queen and never really knowing Shofixti or battle, which would only place more importance on the concept of honor to one's wingmates, the Royalists would know honor to the Queen, the court, and their society together in peace. The Starship Clans would have little to do with the perhaps complicated society that non starfaring Yehat would develop, and thus when the Shofixti come back, the Royals really see no reason to turn against THEIR reality, the society their Queen worked so hard to protect.

It's really fascinating. :D

Exactly. And "reality" is probably a good term. Sentients get the most involved with things that actually happen to them, or are seen by them. It rarely changes. So a fierce bond formed by one facet of society doesn't EXIST to another facet.

Isn't it though? :D
