I arrived ahead of everyone else on Thurs night and decided to start my trip with a couple glasses of wine at a bar inside Venetian. A looooong deserved drinking after 3 weeks of bullshit from home life. After most of the arrivals, we all made our way to Peppermill's for late night dinner. At this point, I didn't sleep for 30+ hrs since I worked the previous night. x_x I slept like a log that night.
Friday saw me shopping around the malls along the strip and dining at RIO's buffet dinner. Of course, all the boys were too busy gambling day and night. At least I managed to hit Bellagio's pastry bar and tried their mocha blended slush - smooth as silk. I hung out at the V-bar for most of the night. It's a nice lounge/bar, but is definitely the wrong place to find a dancing crowd.
Saturday saw us sleeping in. Most of us stayed in the hotel for the day. A small group of us hung out at Palazzo's poolside. Course, I took this oppurtunity to work on my pale, pathetic tan. Again, most of the boys were gambling. Tonight's dinner took place at Wynn's Donald Boulud, where their infamous $32 Kobe beef burger is served stuffed w/ truffles and foie gras. I must admit, the burger was good - but not worth $32. I can see myself paying $20-25 tops for this dish. While most of the party bounced over to catch Bellagio's "O", I hungout w/ E as he was experimenting w/ his shiny new Nikon D40. Kinda made me wish I brought my XTi on this trip, but I didn't feel like lugging the monster around my neck in 90 degree weather. By 11pm, we all reunited to check out club TAO at the Venetian. My god, one of the best clubs I've ever visited. All of us had a great time singing, dancing, and drinking. I also met a cute guy from WA... ;-) By the time we exited at 4am, my feet where thanking me as I walked bare foot thru the casino floors back to our room.
Sunday started off w/ my zombie ass attempting to climb out of bed at 9am to have brunch at Bouchon's. Afterwards, I spent a good chunk of time inside Caesar's Forum Shoppes. Actually, I was more addicted to FAO's giant floor piano for a long time... For dinner, we made our way to San Marco's inside the Venetian mall, located across from Postrio's. I'm always impressed w/ San Marco's winelist, way too many selections to choose from. Afterwards, the gang headed over to illy's for gelato. Since this was my last night, I spent the night packing my luggage before meeting up w/ the gang over at TI's casino at 1am where I made my money back. By 5am, I bidded farewell to Palazzo and headed to LAS to make my 6.55am flight home. Arrived at my dispatch center to get my car by 9am and was in bed by 11am to prepare for Monday night's 6pm shift.
*sigh* ...I miss Vegas...
