My day started out the way I had planned it to run. I woke up. Okay, here's where I messed up - I woke up then fell asleep for an hour and a half.
Let's try this again. My day started out the way I had almost planned it to run. I woke up and started reading a book called New Faiths, Old Fears: Muslims and Other Asian Immigrants in American Religious Life. I have to write a two page response about it today. I read the introduction and chapter one and then Ryan called.
And here's where my day went nnnnnyeearrrrrr plop BANG. I went over to Ryan's where we each made our own respective lunches. I served up some Penne and Chreese - it's a vegan take on Kraft Mac and Cheese. I ate the whole freaking thing. It was pretty great. Nick Courtney came over and then Ryan was like, does anyone want to go shopping? And even though I really didn't, the guys said it'd only take an hour and a half. So we go to the mall, we go to WalMart, then Ryan's all I want to go to Best Buy to buy the best ever Death Cab album - Transatlanticism - because I let someone borrow it a long time ago and it's been gone for too long. So then we go to Best Buy. Then, we decide it'd be great to drive along the country roads and farm fields outside the city and listen to the album, which we did.
We get back to Ryan's around 3:45. Recently, Ryan and Grace discovered in their closet a box Grove just left there and said they could have. Inside was an ORIGINAL Nintendo system with a shitload of games - including the ORIGINAL Super Mario Brothers, a game I hadn't played since early elementary school summers with my neighbors at their house. So lately we've been kind of hooked to the game. I mean, we just rediscovered Warp Zone to level 4 yesterday...The only videogames I ever play are Mario Kart, Simpsons Road Rage, and Super Mario Bros (the one where you get all the coins at the different worlds and it was for GameBoy and you could get rabbit ears and fly and defeat Wario) and then the original Mario Bros. So this has been some real time nostalgia for me. Anyway, I played and died after I Warp Zoned it to level 4 and then the system started acting up. That was about 20 minutes ago.
So I've basically read 40 pages, with 70 more to go, then a 2 page summary and catching up on another 2 page summary I was supposed to do a while back. Then I have to get reading books for my research paper due Monday. A shitload of people are going to a gay club tonight in Nashville and it's gonna be a blast but a) I've heard Play isn't as good as Connections was b) I have a lot of work to do and c) I don't like dancing. But apparently there's this Cocoa Cafe or something that's a great coffee shop/lounge-y place open all night so I might go down with the crew and then go to the cafe with people. Who knows. Back to reading.
