Florida...

Feb 20, 2007 22:00

So, it's 10:00 PM and I guess i'm in Florida now. When I found out that mom had brought the laptop I got all stoked because I was hoping that the hotel would have internet and I would at least be able to talk to my friends (more specifically Mary, who I haven't seen in a week) that way. After a decent plane ride, climaxing with some shut eye, and hitting bottum with the worst ear pains of my life, we got to Florida. We didn't do much waiting, and I got a coffee in the airport from Starbucks, which made me pretty fucking stoked! I also got a free Vanity Fair, which is always a good magazine for the latest fashions. We got a relatively nice rental car and I got to do pretty much my favorite thing ever, which is driving down the Florida Freeway with my window open and the music blasting. Just when I thought, oh! Awesome! This may actually turn out to be a good trip we decided to get some food. Not only was I not hungry but I was actually feeling quite bloated at this point in time and the last thing I felt like doing was eating. Of course I could not argue this point to my parents so we pulled over and went to a Waffle House. Big mistake. The two waitresses were absolutely ridiculous and fit into about every southern stereotype I can think of. Also, this was the first night for one of them so the other had to train her and she was the chef for some reason so she also had to cook all the food. After about 40 minutes we finally got our food. I ate my waffle super fast and immediately after I felt horribly ill. I went and laid down in the car. My dad came out about 10 minutes later and said they messed up our bill. My mom then spent the next 40 minutes arguing with the chef lady about it. Hurrah for higher education. I was strangely reminded of work the entire time we were there. We finally got on the road and I was happier again. We got off of the freeway and pulled up in front of our hotel, Quality Suites. It was quite nice looking and I got much more excited. My mother came out of the lobby 10 minutes later only to tell us that this was not our hotel. I felt a bit discouraged but kept my expectations high. Then we came to the motel where we are actually staying, Quality Inn. Oh my, first off I detest motels. They are quite possibly the least attractive way to travel that there is. I'd rather sleep in the car. It turned out kind of cool cause Nao-chan and I get our own room but seriously, what a let down. At least there's internet. There's also an outdoor Jacuzzi but I'm afraid of outdoor water anything in Florida. We'll see. Tomorrow we're getting up at 7 to go to Disney World. Thrilling. Oh, I can't wait... Not! Well, it's not all that bad. The point of this entry was actually to say that it turns out that my mom brought her work laptop and won't let me download aim. Which is quite upsetting, all I want to do is talk to my friends. Whatever. Sorry, don't mean to be whiney. I just don't want to be on this vacation. hm.
