So craziness occurred at my dorm last night!
I was at work downstairs at the Bistro and the fire alarm went off. I was kind of happy because that meant that I got to get out of work for awhile, but little did I know that I would be in store for hours.
I was only wearing my work tee and some jeans and it was 40 degrees out and raining. I had to stand outside for an hour. Luckily I wasn't the girl who was out there in her towel.
It turns out that on the third floor some idiot was playing football in the hallway and through the ball at a sprinkler head which then exploded. 300 gallons of water poured out into the brand new dorm which is being opened to the media tomorrow. The third floor was 3 inches deep in water in some parts and ruined a lot of peoples text books, spiral note books, printers, phone chargers, and other misc electronics.
We couldn't go back inside the building until 12 (the incident occurred at 7), and only the fourth floor residents could go back, because our floor was unaffected. Throughout the night there were people downstairs trying to pump out the water, and fix the building from too much damage. Which partly the firemens' fault because they thought that it was a drill and started flirting with girls outside the building for 10 min before going in.
They won't give us any real answers about when it will be back to normal, who is covering the costs and so on, so it's a little annoying.
Quite the night, I am not going to lie. I am SO thankful that I am on the fourth floor.
