[the audio clicks on; a surprisingly gentle, feminine voice speaks]

...Gintoki, you wouldn't happen to have bandages at home, would you?

[light grumbling, the next comment is barely audible, however it's not completely indistinguishable]

What do you-

[Rustling as he looks down and confirms that he is indeed also a woman]

...Ah, so this is what they mean by curses.

Correct, and quite...a trial by fire, Takasugi.

[ a hand still hovers near the hilt of his sword -- Zurako isn't taking any chances. ]

[Smiles as he spots Katsura reaching for his sword]

I'd say this is quite inspiring. I was looking for good incentive to motivate me. What kind of existence is it to be dampened by constantly being subjected to the will of a foreign entity?

...Perhaps the one thing we always seem to agree on. Though, these "deities" are not your typical adversaries, as you clearly can see.

[ Zurako's other hand reaches to pull the front folds of his kimono tighter. ]

I am sure even a deity would suffer if all those who worship them and the very land they created goes up in flames.

...Senseless Destruction is not te best course of actions when it comes to these so-called deities. Not only do people resurrect, but buildings can rebuild themselves in a day.

It seems futile, but there must be some other method...

Do you expect me to roll over and be docile? Allow any other external force to rule over me? I for one can't keep my sword arm still long enough. My heart cries out for revenge against all of them. Don't you hear it, too, Zura? Or has that part of you died away much like the Shiroyasha?

Of course not from you, but I do expect you to at least be somewhat rational. One cannot charge in with merely force -- not from creatures that can most likely hear us conversing even now.

...I hear it, Takasugi. Even here in the City, I wonder constantly if these 'deities' can bleed, and if so, that it will be by my sword.

It's been a while since I've heard that kind of vigor from you. If you truly feel the same then take up your sword and fight by my side once again. We have the same goal ...destroy our oppressors... but freedom can only be gained once this city is purged of its trash.
