I really love my Frankenstein job of a computer (my old roommate Nick actually built it from scratch for me), but it tends to have unexplainable drawbacks. For one, the last time we tried installing Service Pack 2 on Windows XP, the tower projectile vomited a series of ones and zeros all over my carpet. So we reinstalled Windows, opted against service Pack 2, and it all runs fine.
You would not believe how much of a pain in the ass something simple like that is becoming. I can no longer upgrade iTunes, I can't get on MSN Messenger and my clocks are set to the OLD daylight savings time standards.
So I'm on the computer Sunday morning, marveling at how much time I have until I go to work, only to realize that my clock has done the fall back a week early and I'm actually already late for work.
Who knew that Service Pack 2 could make me 40 minutes late for work? Thanks, Obama.
