It's been a productive few days :)
I started at the begining of the week on the task that I have been putting off for too long - that os moving the Shoples blog from Livejournal onto the main site. While Livejournal is a great blogging platform there are a couple of really important advantages in business to having the blog on the company's website. When visitors come to the blog it is easy for them to just follow the naviagtion to other parts of the site. It also allows us to let people enter our monthly free prize draw when they look at the blog.
I thought it was going to be a very difficult and long winded process moving the blog - but it was relatively painless. Quite alot of time spent writing the code but it all seems to be working fine now and it went live last night :) So far there is only one blog post but I'm sure that will change before too long! I suspect that more features will also be added as time goes on but for now it is out there and working!
Shoples Blog
This morning I was up early and have crafted a new email that has been sent out to all our subscribers. In the past our emails have been quite image heavy but it seems that a number of people don't allow images to display in their emails - probably because this is the default setting in lots of email clients and people don't bother changing from the default! The new email has very limited images and certainly still makes sense without them so hopefully it will get a higher response than previous ones.
