East Lancs Railway

Today has been lovely. We had a lazy morning followed by catching up with a little bit of work. Then without too much planning we headed of to the East Lancs Railway. We knew it would be full of kids as it is a 'Thomas The Tank Engine' weekend but we thought we would just take a look and see......

We started off by going to Bury where there were trains but where we would have had to pay to get in. Something we didn't want to do as we were just looking and not participating. So after a brief exercising of the dogs we drove to Summerseat where there is a beautiful coutry request halt station set in an equally beautiful village. teenagedethgrrl fell for more than a few of the houses around there and it again was a good place for the doggies.

After calling at Rawenstall in time to see the last train depart we then headed up to Rossendale to Rossendale Pet Cemetry where Cassey's ashes were scattered and where flossdog was cremated. It has certainly expended since I was last there a number of years ago but it is still as peaceful and lovely as ever.
