Today the plan was to have a leisurely get up, then to pack things I need for working from Manchester home tomorrow along with a few clothes and thing in case I decide to go out tomorrow night. Then to check the fluid levels on the car, load up and drive to Manchester in plenty of time to miss rush hour, vote and then have a good go and tidying up, vacuuming the living room and then get stuck into sorting out the back bedroom - plus perhaps go to a
talk about free software at Manchester University although no definate plans for the last part as I only found out about it late last night.......
The leisurely get up was a bit more leisurely than I had planned but a lay in was very welcome and definately needed. I have loaded the dishwasher and put a load of clothes washing in to wash and got all packed up and checked the fluid levels on the car - so far so good.
But then it came to loading up......
I went to turn the car round to make this easier to find the battery is pretty much completely flat :-( This usually would not be a problem as we have a good power pack which will start the car but that is in Dottz which
tabatha_yeddap has taken into work. So plan B......simply put the battery on charge for an hour or so by which time there should be enough charge in it to start the car. Another problem - the battery charger is also in Dottz from last time we took Dolly away! I don't even have a set of jump leads here to try starting it off the leisure battery that is here :-(
I did think of going down the lane and asking
tabatha_yeddap's if he would give me a jump start but the car is parked forwards up the drive so there is no way of getting anywhere near the battery with another vehicle.
So it looks like I am stuck :-(
At least until
tabatha_yeddap gets home. So once I get the car started it looks like I will have to fight my way through rush hour, arrive in Manchester too late to start vacuuming and generally stressed and definately missing the
talk I might have gone to. I have so much work to do in the back bedroom and
tabatha_yeddap seems to think it is just a case of getting a skip and sorting it in one day - there is at least four solid days of sorting in there and in the loft space above before we can replace the ceiling - even without the sorting out of spaces for the things that we are keeping that are currently stored in there.
